Media Release 18.10.2024
As part of its ongoing commitment to advocacy and accessibility for all people with disabilities, Multicap Tasmania is proud to announce its partnership with Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens. This collaboration has resulted in the creation of three accessible videos, offering a virtual tour of the garden’s breathtaking beauty across different seasons.
Two of these videos showcase the gardens in the height of summer, while the third captures the vibrant colours of autumn. Plans are underway to produce additional videos featuring the gardens in other seasons, ensuring year-round accessibility. This initiative provides an exceptional opportunity for both Tasmanians and tourists worldwide to appreciate the stunning efforts of the garden’s volunteers, regardless of physical limitations.
Multicap Tasmania launches Accessible Garden Videos
The videos will be accessible via the new Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden website, launching this month, as well as on Multicap Tasmania’s website and YouTube channel.
Multicap Tasmania is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities by working collaboratively to create services, experiences, and opportunities that cater to their unique needs and aspirations. For over 50 years, Multicap Tasmania has been empowering people with disabilities to reach their full potential, express their individuality, and engage meaningfully within the community.
“We are thrilled to partner with Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens to make these beautiful spaces accessible to everyone,” said Nigel Hill, CEO at Multicap Tasmania. “These videos are just the beginning. We look forward to developing more unique and exciting partnerships with other local Tasmanian attractions to ensure that our state is accessible for all to experience and enjoy.”
"It was such a beautiful opportunity to preview the videos you’ve worked so hard to create, offering a wonderful experience for those with limited mobility. The chance for them to virtually explore the gardens through your video and sound work is truly special, particularly for your clients at Multicap. This collaboration with the Rhododendron Gardens, one of our local jewels, is such a meaningful project for our city." - Mayor Teeny Brumby
